1965 DAR Display

The Adirondack Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently donated their records to the Franklin County Historical and Museum Society.  These records include many press clippings of the activities of the local DAR chapter over the course of more than 50 years.  Of particular interest to us were this article and photograph published in the Malone Telegram in February 1965:

The Telegram article details many of the historical items featured in the DAR display in the vacant storefront window at the corner of Main and Elm Streets in Malone.  Among the items mentioned is this one, which is now part of the collection of the Franklin County Historical and Museum Society:

Rev. Parmelee's chair, as it is currently displayed in the House of History Museum.
